Rights Rangers
St Benedict’s Primary School is proud to be a UN Rights Respecting School, where children’s rights are at the heart of everything we do. Guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, we help pupils to understand their own rights and the rights of others, promoting fairness, equality and respect throughout school life. Our Rights Rangers play a key role in supporting the school in all aspects of this work, helping to promote children’s rights, model positive behaviour and ensure that rights and responsibilities are understood and respected across our whole school community.
Our Rights Rangers have worked closely to link all of our school values—forgiveness, love, curiosity, stewardship, respect and resilience—to the relevant UN Convention on the Rights of the Child articles. They help ensure that our learning not only develops knowledge and skills but also activelt reflects and promotes these rights in everyday school life and in our learning. This is important because it helps children understand how their values connect to real-world rights, encourages respect for themselves and others, and supports the development of a caring, fair and responsible school community where everyone’s voice is heard and valued.
