Welcome to Starling Class!
We are a mixed Year 2 and Year 3 class, taught by Mrs Williams and Mrs Schofield. Our classroom is a welcoming place where children share ideas, build friendships and grow as confident learners.
Bringing these year groups together creates a supportive bridge between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Our Year 2 children benefit from learning alongside older classmates, while our Year 3 children strengthen their understanding by explaining their thinking and being positive role models.
We explore shared topics and experiences, with teaching and activities carefully planned to meet the curriculum expectations of each year group. Support and challenge are matched to children’s needs, helping everyone build on what they already know and take their next steps.
Together, we encourage curiosity, independence and teamwork, celebrating each child’s achievements along the way.
What have we been up to?
Art Week
We started the year with a creative art week! We explored how to use clay tools to shape, add texture and create details, making our own clay houses and tiles. Take a look at our wonderful creations in our class gallery!
